Seppo’s Preview #7

Week 7 Thursday Night Football

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles

Matchup Basics

Matchup Insight

This game should be very similar to the Jets v Broncos, or the Browns v Bengals Thursday Night games. There will be two bad teams trading mistakes until someone decides they want actually to win the game. The critical point is, will these mistakes happen early in drives? Leading to more possessions and a short field for the opposition, or long drives with errors in the red zone that take teams out of field goal range?

I see this game being pass-heavy as well, with the Giants run game being horrific and the Eagles run game down a few offensive linemen as well as a small backup running back. The Eagles should be able to contain Darius Slayton, so look for secondary options to get a few extra targets. Richard Rogers should play well in this game as the Giants linebackers are more known for their run defence than their pass coverage. I like, but don’t love the over here. I will be on the over 44.5, as I think the Eagles getting a few key players such as Lane Johnson and DJax will help, and the Giants will score a few points off of Eagles mistakes.
