Matchup Insight

The NFC East is heating up with every team separated by only one game. Yeah, that's about as much as I can pump this one up this game is going to be bad, in saying that, when we dissect the numbers, there are a few key points that can win us some money. The Eagles hurt like they hurt their missing 6 of their top 7 offensive linemen, their top 2 TEs, their top RB and 2 of their top 3 WRs (assuming Desean Jackson plays). Even with this, the Eagles scored 57 points in their last two games vs two of the best defences. The Giants defence is also good upfront however outside of James Bradberry their secondary has been horrific, now I know we can't put all of our eggs in the Carson Wentz basket, but this is a lousy QB that can still score points at both ends of the field.

The run defense for both these teams is good coupled with the fact we're looking at 2 backup running backs and this game is going to be played through the air. Now the Giants are missing a lot of their offensive starters as well but their record against poor secondary’s this season has been good, the last 2 weeks vs the Cowboys and Washington they have put up a combined 54 points and can put up the points vs the eagles poor back end as well. Both these QBs are prone to turnovers and i can't see that changing this week with this being a good week to see some defensive touchdowns. The history for this matchup shows a very one sided affair with the Eagles dominating their recent bouts. The Giants have only won 4 out of the previous 22 times these teams have played and haven’t’t won in Philly since 2013.

The Last Word

Whoever wins this game could end the week as the top team in the NFC East. The Eagles hold the advantage in the matchup with the better pass rush and better coaching. Still, this Thursday night game has the feel of the Broncos Jets game where we were expecting a low scoring game and got treated to a point fest. I can't take a side on a pair of 1 win teams, but I can see the points flowing.
