Wimbledon 2022 Day 2
Wimbledon Day 3
Tuesday 28th June
Men’s
Feliciano Lopez VS Botic Van De Zandschlup
A value plays at odds here as Lopez the savvy veteran takes on the up in comer in Van De Zandschlup. Lopez may be old but has traditionally been solid on the grass and we’re getting good odds for him to put on an old man’s performance in possibly his last trip to Wimbledon.
Zizou Bergs VS Jack Draper
We have 2 players that are solid on the grass courts and should go to war in the first round.
Lorenzo Sonego VS Denis Kudla
This is going to be an exciting match up and we see this having 5 sets written all over it. We are just taking the over in case someone can get it done in 4, but either way, this match is going to be exciting.
Paul Jubb VS Nick Kyrgios
Kyrgios has shown a resurgence in form this year and for once in his life, his PlayStation may be collecting dust. Kyrigos has always had a terrific style for the grass courts and usually rolls early in the slams until the couch starts calling in week 2.
Dennis Novak VS Facundo Bagnis
Bagnis is well over the odds here, and although not a great grass courter he’s getting a good matchup. Novak is a player who makes the slams on occasion at this stage of his career but is generally always a fade.
Alexei Popyrin VS Hugo Gaston
Another fireworks match up that has 2 players who generally play better in the slams than they do on the tour. Look to see both of these men leave everything on the court today.
Ladies
Catherine Harrison VS Arantxa Rus
We like the play on Harrison here who easily blew through the qualifiers in straight sets and gets a favourable round 1 matchup. Rus is generally poor on the grass and I expect that form to carry here. Harrison generally prefers to miss the grass season however she has shown good control so far this week.
Mihaela Buzarnescu VS Nastasja Schunk
This is going to be an interesting match that pits a veteran who has shown brilliant ability on the grass against a young clay-court specialist. It’s very interesting to have Buzarnescu as the underdog here as we line her as the favourite. Over the last 5 years, Buzarnescu has beaten everyone she is supposed to on grass and only lost to a whos who of the best current grasscourt players.
