Nikoloz Basilashvili VS Lukas Rosol

A bet we love here with Basilashvili one of the more inconsistent players on tour. Rosol came through the qualifiers without dropping a set and has a game that’s well suited for the grass courts. Rosol also has a famous win over Nadal at Wimbledon.

Thiago Monteiro VS Jaume Munar

Two clay-court players who like giving it their all in every match. We have this match going long with the winner likely getting some luck in the 5th. When these two matched up earlier this year the game went to 3 sets with 2 tiebreakers.

Benoit Paire VS Quentin Halys

Paire is one of our favourite players to back early in the Grand Slams. This match is going to be very close and we have it set as a 50-50 match-up. Getting a high price on Paire is worth hitting at the odds.

Thanasi Kokkinakis VS Kamil Majchrzak

Kokkinakis is a good grasscourt player who already has a win over Majchrzak. We like Kokkinakis to get the job done on a surface that’s suited for his game.

John Millman VS Miomir Kecmanovic

This is as much a play against Kecmanovic as it is on Millman. Kecmanovic is a poor grass-court player and will show his dislike for the surface in this match. Millman is a good player to follow on the grass with a positive record and some solid scalps already this grass-court season.

Jan-Lennard Struff VS Carlos Alcaraz

Don’t be surprised if Alcaraz loses here and takes an early trip to his next tournament. Struff is a strong veteran who is having a poor season, but we still rate him as the slightly better player on grass. Alcaraz’s game is not suited to the surface and this game should go long. If Alcaraz does win he has an easy draw ahead of him and we may get some juicy lines in the future to fade him.

Tallon Griekspoor VS Fabio Fognini

Fognini has always been strong at Wimbledon and although he is getting long in the tooth he has been given a favourable first-round matchup. Wimbledon is a tournament that favours its veterans who are used to playing on the fast surface and Fognini has seen this grass plenty before.
