Rays NFL Tips Week 17
Tuesday 4th January
Browns @ Steelers
Monday 3rd January
Vikings @ Packers
Giants @ Bears
The Giants are historically bad right now and they will have no answers for a Bears outfit that wants to keep testing their young offence. I expect a big day from the Bears defence to keep the Giants close to the 12 points per game they have averaged over the last 6 weeks.
David Montgomery gets an amazing matchup against a Giants team that has been horrific against the run this season. The Giants have allowed the 4th most rushing yards to opposing running backs and the Bears will likely lean on Montgomery for 20+ carries. Montgomery has been brilliant in the passing game since returning from injury, going over this total the last 5 games straight. Montgomery has taken 5+ receptions in his last 4 matches as well showing he is a true centrepiece of this offence.
Buccaneers @ Jets
Antonio Brown returned from suspension last week and once again showed he is the #1 receiver in this offence. Gronk had a slow game last week but will be out to prove it’s a one-off as he gets a terrific matchup against a Jets side that can’t stop anyone right now.
Falcons @ Bills
Although it may seem like Stefon Diggs is having a down season, he is actually having his most successful touchdown scoring season of his career so far. Diggs has scored in 7 of his last 10 matches and gets a terrific matchup against a Falcons side that can’t stop wide receivers in the RedZone.
Eagles @ Football Team
We go back to our Jalen Hurts line after missing it last week. Hurts will have to run more this week with almost the entire Eagles running back corps under an injury cloud.
Chiefs @ Bengals
The Bengals put in a monumental effort against the Ravens last week and we are getting a better line because of it. The Bengals have come a long way but are still young and inexperienced. The Chiefs are in a great position to take care of business here.
Travis Kelce is back and has a terrific matchup against a Bengals side that is poor up the middle.
Dolphins @ Titans
The Dolphins are on a 7 game winning streak that is about to come to a screeching halt. The Dolphins have beaten no strong teams through this streak and will meet their match against a Titans outfit who continues to chug along to the playoffs. Both of these offences have struggled to put up points recently and both teams are carried by their defence. The Titans are one of the best teams in the league against Tight Ends and Gesicki typically has slower games when DeVante Parker is in the lineup.
Rams @ Ravens
An automatic play right now as the Rams tries to get Cooper Kupp to all the records. Kupp will need 2 strong games to end the season to take home both the season receiving yards record and the season receptions record.
Cardinals @ Cowboys
We are getting a lot of points in a match that projects to be closely contested. The Cardinals are in desperate need of a win and will be targetting this Cowboys defence that has shown holes at times. The middle of this Cowboys defence is the easiest target and Kyler will be looking for his favourite target Ertz through there.
Panthers @ Saints
Taysom Hill has started 7 games in his career and has scored 2 touchdowns in 3 of them. This includes 1/3 this season. We are getting a great number for a mobile quarterback in Hill who has a taste for the endzone.
Lions @ Seahawks
Tyler Lockett is going to have an excellent matchup this week against a Lions side that has been the most inconsistent in the league. In away matches, the Lions have struggled and it will be no different here. Lockett has reached 100 receiving yards in 5/15 matches this season and the Lions cornerbacks are allowing a massive 70% catch rate across the board.
