UFC Vegas 54 Betting Tips

How To

  1. Use Betting Units. Set your total amount of money to bet with for today and divided it by 100. That is how much each unit is. E.G if you have $1000 / 100 = $10 Units.

  2. Follow the staking advice.

  3. Check the number of units to stake in the caption of each photo. See the example below.

  4. Always try to use the Best Odds Bookmaker.

UFC Vegas 54
Blachowicz
VS
Rakic

Sunday 15th May

Nick Maximov VS Andre Petroski

Maximov Via Sub - Stake 1.5 Units, Minimum Odds 4.0, Best Book - Pointsbet

We have two fighters who will come into this match with similar gameplans. Both Maximov and Petroski will look to wrestle and get this fight to the ground. Petroski likes to use his wrestling while Maximov employs his Jiu-Jitsu game. There's a big difference in the quality of these fighters, however, as Maximov looks to be a mainstay in the division while Petroski doesn't look to be UFC quality. This is a step down from Maximov's previous fight in Soriano, and the extra time in the UFC will only improve his game. Maximov's last two UFC fights have both decided, so we are getting such a good line on the submission. Petroski is a fighter who has never seen the scorecards in his eight professional fights, and there are serious questions over his gas tank. Maximov has said that he is disappointed that he is fighting in the prelim opener and will have more to say about it on the microphone in the post-fight, which will carry more weight if he can secure the finish.

Virna Jandiroba VS Angela Hill

Double Chance, Jandiroba Via Sub or Hill Via Points - Stake 2 Units, Minimum Odds 1.85, Best Book - Lads/Neds

I like this option as we are getting both fighters the best path to victory at plus money. Jandiroba will try to get this fight to the ground, where she has a massive advantage over Hill. Jandiroba is a submission specialist, and if she can get Hill down, she will have little difficulty finishing her. Angela Hill is poor on the mat but has the decisive advantage in the striking. Hill is a fighter that has gone to decision in her last six bouts, including losing three split decisions against better strikers than Jandiroba. Hill hasn't fought a grappling specialist recently, and even against strikers has shown poor ability on the mat.

Frank Camacho VS Manuel Torres

Frank Camacho Via KO/TKO or Sub - Stake 1.5 Units, Minimum Odds 2.9, Best Book - UNIBET

This is an exciting fight with a UFC veteran who has fought some of the best fighters in the UFC against a UFC debutant in Torres, who has beaten mostly cans on the regional scene. Torres is the favourite here because of his early finishing record, although this will be a considerable step up in competition. These two fighters have a combined record of 38 finishes from 45 fights as both have colossal finishing potential, and Camacho is in a must-win situation. Camacho generally uses his striking. However, he does have a BJJ black belt, and the grappling could be his most straightforward path to victory, with Torres being subbed in both of his losses. Camacho by sub is currently at $13, and this was almost my pick here, but I've decided to play it safer with the inside the distance prop. Camacho is in the best shape I have seen him in the UFC.

Katlyn Chookagian VS Amanda Ribas

Chookagian Via Decision - Stake 2 Units, Minimum Odds 2.0, Best Book - UNIBET

This is an easy one here, with Chookagian having a size advantage and experience advantage and having not finished an opponent since 2016. Ribas is moving up a weight class for this bout and has come in taking on one of the best fighters in the division. Chookagian will be a very loud fighter in the cage, throwing out a "Kee AH" on every strike, whether it lands or not, which will help to influence the judges. Ribas has been finished in both of her losses, but I expect a more reserved game plan as she tries to defend the volume from the bigger fighter. Chookagian will be looking to fight an intelligent fight as a victory could give her another shot at the title.

Ryan Spann VS Ion Cutelaba

Cutelaba Via KO/TKO - Stake 2 Units, Minimum Odds 1.75, Best Book - Topsport

We have two fighters here that are big-hitting tanks that will likely stand and bang until someone falls. Both fighters are capable on the ground, but I give a slight edge to Cutelaba on the floor if he chooses to go that route, but Spann does have many submissions that I believe will keep this fight on the feet. This fight also has a fun narrative of DC VS Marvel with Ryan "Superman" Spann against Ion "The Hulk" Cutelaba. For the record, id takes Superman here, but I'm on The Hulk in the world of MMA. Cutelaba has shown better fight IQ in his last few fights, and this evolution in his game plan is the only reason I'm not taking him in the first round. Cutelaba is the hungrier fighter here and will show that he wants this more.

Jan Blachowicz VS Aleksandar Rakic

Rakic Via Decision - Stake 1 Unit, Minimum Odds 3.0, Best Book - Pointsbet

Here, I'm taking a small shot on a value bet in the main event. Blachowicz is the former champion, but there are a lot of questions hanging over him right now. Jan recently pulled out of this fight due to a neck injury which makes me think he will be hesitant to engage against Rakic. Rakic has a lot of solid fundamentals, albeit against a lower class of competition. Rakic looks to be a future title contender if he can get there before Ankalaev. Rakic has low volume but mixes up his wrestling, clinch work, and leg kicks well to score on the judge's score sheets. Rakic has gone to decision in his last three fights, although they were only 3 round bouts. Rakic's gas tank will be tested in the later rounds, but he is a high IQ fighter who should be able to ride the fight out from the top position if he gets tired.
