UFC Vegas 49 Betting Tips

How To

  1. Use Betting Units. Set your total amount of money to bet with for today and divided it by 100. That is how much each unit is. E.G if you have $1000 / 100 = $10 Units.

  2. Follow the staking advice.

  3. Check the number of units to stake in the caption of each photo. See the example below.

  4. Always try to use the Best Odds Bookmaker.

Prelims

Ramiz Brahimaj VS Micheal Gillmore

Ramiz Brahimaj by Sub - Stake 1.5 Units, Minimum Odds 1.9, Best Book - Topsport

Ramiz Brahimaj by 1st RD Sub - Stake 0.5 Units, Minimum Odds 3.25, Best Book - Pointsbet

Brahimaj is an excellent Jiu-Jitsu technician who excels when he is in a top position, chaining submission attempts together. If this fight gets extended then Brahimaj’s short gas tank may come into question, however, I cant see this fight lasting that long. Brahimaj has 9 professional wins which have all come by submission and he faces a wrestler who will likely be overconfident in his abilities on the mat. Gillmore lost his TUF match then faced another TUF loser in his maiden UFC fight and lost that as well. Gillmore is a non-UFC level fighter who has 4 of his 5 losses by submission.

Terrance McKinney VS Fares Ziam

Terrance Mckinney to Win in RD 1 - Stake 1 Unit, Minimum Odds 3.7, Best Book - BET365

We have two fighters here, who have contrasting styles in the ring. McKinney comes out of the gates fast while Ziam is a calculated points fighter who runs away from the action. We are getting a price that is much too high for McKinney to finish this fight early as he is a proficient grappler with power in his strikes who has finished 10 of his 11 wins in the first round. We are moving for the first round only also as I believe it will be tough for McKinney’s gas tank to hold up if this fight gets extended. Just a small play here.

Gregory Rodrigues VS Armen Petrosyan

Armen Petrosyan Double Chance, KO/TKO or Sub - Stake 2 Units, Minimum Odds 2.7, Best Book - BET365

Petrosyan is a strong tactical striker who creates chances and has a nice fight IQ to set up his combos. Petrosyan has shown signs of being a great up and coming fighter and has been working on his defensive wrestling. Rodrigues is a grappler who puts too much faith into his striking. Rodrigues is a fighter that gasses after the first round and has shown signs of a weak chin in the past. Robocop’s only chance to win will come by smothering Petrosyan with the grappling, however, even then it will likely expend too much energy and Petrosyan will be able to put him away.

Misha Cirkunov VS Wellington Turman

Misha Cirkunov Double Chance, KO/TKO or Sub - Stake 1.5 Units, Minimum Odds 2.2, Best Book - BET365

Misha Cirkunov is the epitome of a finish or gets finished fighter, having only one trip to the scorecards since 2011. Cirkunov has moved down to Middleweight after spending most of his career at 205 and will be better for his first foray in the division against Jotko. Turman is a BJJ black belt who has a very weak chin and can be lost in the grappling at times as well. Turman isn’t a particularly strong fighter and should find himself outclassed here. Although most of Cirkunovs wins have come by submission, I can’t rule out him taking top control and raining down shots on Turman's chin.

Islam Makhachev VS Bobby Green

Islam Makhachev via Sub - Stake 2 Units, Minimum Odds 1.8, Best Book - Topsport

If the circumstances were different I would like to be on Makhachev by points, however, with everything we know about this fight, the tip will be the submission. Makhachev has increasingly come into his element over his last few fights and will employ a grappling heavy gameplan here. Bobby Green is generally a very durable fighter and has strong get up skills from the mat, however in a 5 round fight on short notice and a 2-week turnaround since his last fight and more importantly weight cut, I just don’t think he’ll be able to last the match. This fight will be at a catchweight of 160 pounds which heavily favours Makhachev who will be able to use his frame to put Green into whichever position he wants. Green’s last fight was against a striker so will not be prepared for a grappling heavy contest. Just like Dan Hooker, big respect to Green for stepping in on short notice, but unfortunately this one will likely finish early.
